Scripture: Luke 21:25-36 Name some things you are waiting for.
It seems for me as if my time of waiting is coming to a close this advent season. This weekend I will be ordained as a minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC (USA), in the next couple of weeks I will be a first time father.
As I look back on my life I was always waiting...waiting to start a family, waiting to find my calling, waiting to find that person that makes you feel like you belong.
It has taken me 5 years to get through the ordination process, all it's hoops, others added on, three tries to pass ordination exams, working in a non-ordained position. I felt like it would never happen, but all that waiting and preparation is coming to fruition this weekend because I was able to trust and take the next step.
My wife and I are expecting our first child in less than a month. I have wanted a family for as long as I could remember (probably something to do with the blessing of having a wonderful father to look to) and in a couple of weeks I will have a child.
Lord, I pray that my wife, our baby, and our faith continue to grow, strengthen, and be well. Come Lord Jesus.
